　　According to Reuters on August 12, a small private college in Massachusetts, the US, ranked first on “the best US college in 2010”， while Ivy League contenders such as Harvard and Yale were merely in the rank.

　　Forbes worked with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity to complete a new college ranking by considering graduates’ success in their chosen career field, their average salaries, student evaluation of their professors and classes, as well as the cost of tuition.

　　According to Forbes, the 2200 students of  Williams College ranked as top one on the list. The Second on the list was Princeton University, and the third was Amherst College. Rounding out the top five were the United States Military Academy at West Point, which dropped to No. 4 from the top spot last year, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was No. 5 and the No. 8 and No 10. slots went to Harvard and Yale respectively.

　　Williams College was established in 1793 and is one of the oldest educational institutions in the U.S. At first, it was a college for men only. Co-education at Williams College began in 1970.

　　《福布斯》和美国大学学费与绩效中心在综合考虑了毕业生在所学专业所取得的成绩、毕业生薪金、学生对教授和课堂的评价、学费等诸多因素后，对全美各大高校进行了新一轮的排名。

　　据福布斯网站公布的消息，只有2200名学生的威廉姆斯学院位列榜首，紧随其后的是普林斯顿大学和阿莫斯特学院，美国西点军校从去年的榜首跌到第四名，马萨诸塞州科技学院排名第五。哈佛大学排名第八，耶鲁大学下降到第十。

　　威廉姆斯学院成立于1793年，是美国最古老的教育机构之一，是因为获得美国陆军上校埃菲拉姆•威廉姆斯资助而建立的。建校之处只设男校，男女共同教育是从1970年开始的。
