By Friday 包不包括周五？


我们先看两个例句：

①Please send it by Friday.

  最晚周五发给我

（Friday is the deadline）

(周五是截止日期)



②Please send it before Friday.

周五之前发给我

（Friday is too late. I need it in advance of Friday）

(周五就太晚了，最迟周四晚上)



这里我们把by和before放在一起来比较一下它们两个词的区别

来理解它们正确的用法



If you want the job to be ready on Friday morning, you would say

如果你要求在周五早上的时候工作是完成了的，你应该说



Please do this before Friday



If you need it to be done either before or during Friday, you would say

如果你要求工作在周五或之前完成，你应该说



Please do this by Friday



In other words, using by is inclusive, it means do this on any day up to and including the day specified. Using before is non inclusive, it means that I expect it to be done when I arrive on Friday morning.

换句话说，用by是包括的，它的意思是干什么在某天之前或者包含那天。用before是不包含的，意思是我希望我周五早上一来你的工作是做完了的。



after怎么用?

after+一段时间(模糊时间)用来表达在这段时间之后



例：

So, the week after next I will be starting an internship with Apple.

因此，从下下周开始，我到苹果实习。



He will fly to Madrid the month after next.

他将在下下个月飞往马德里。



但是，

“三周后”就不要用"after three weeks"了，

它的正确表达应该是

"in three weeks"。





in怎么用?

in+一段时间(明确时间)可以用来表达一段时间结束



例：

I'll find a job in two weeks.

两周内我会找到工作



We can have the May Day holiday in three weeks.

三周(结束)后又可以放五一假。



You can finish reading the book in a month.

你可以在一个月内看完这本书。
