"put it there" 除了字面上的“放在那儿”的意思之外，在口语中还有一个常见的意思：



You say &#39ut it there!' to someone when you are asking them to shake hands with you, because you agree with them or want to congratulate them.


当你请求某人与你握手时你就会说“Put it there!”，因为你赞同他们的观点或想祝贺他们。




表示“握个手，一言为定”，常见于商务场合或者职场上，表达双方“意见一致；达成协议”。

02put on airs

airs通常指“做作的姿态”、“架子”。put on airs是个固定短语，相当于give oneself airs，意思是“摆架子”、“装腔作势”、“盛气凌人”。



When you put on airs, you act like you re the master of something. If you wear a top hat and insist that everyone call you sir or madam while you boss them around, then you put on airs. 


当你put on airs的时候，你表现得好像你是某件事的大师级人物。如果你戴着礼帽，坚持让每个人都叫你先生或女士，而你却对他们发号施令，那么你就是在put on airs。
