英语加油站: 妈妈是超人！

最近生活忙乱如图，太形象让我联想到同样形象的juggle还有slash俩词儿，班门弄斧辟个英文加油站。

Juggle我们熟悉的意思是to perform the tricks of a juggler, 连续向空中抛接多个物体（经常是球）的杂耍、戏法，为不及物动词（intransitive verb）
例如：She is learning to juggle.

有了这个基本意，不难理解，juggle可以表示to handle or deal with usually several things (obligations) at one time to satisfy often competing requirements, “尽力同时应付(经常是互有竞争性的）不同的事情、任务、有效组织和利用”等，为及物动词（transitive verb）
例如：juggle the responsibilities of family life and full-time job (就是上图的女超人了）

因此，如果你想表达自己努力兼顾家庭和工作，可以：
Juggle family and work 或者
Juggle home and work commitments 或者
Juggling family and work responsibilities

这种看似“无所不能”却辛苦忙乱的状态也有一个地道的词儿：
女超人综合症 The superwoman syndrome
Millions of other women live the same kind of hectic lifestyle. They’re scrambling to run two lives—one at home and one at work. They want to be good wives and mothers, but they also want to be intellectually stimulated by a challenging career or at least bring in a second income to help their households get by.

hectic 繁忙、忙碌、忙乱的
a second income 第二笔收入，因为一开始女性全职在家只有老公赚钱
这里有一个看起来更高大上的表达：
Dual earner model （我们说的双职工）is now more common than the male breadwinner model（男主外女主内模式）

上面的图po全一点，给了一些怎么更好“平衡”的小贴士，比如少一些社交活动（因为第二天会困到怀疑人生）、更好的时间管理、增加跟孩子和家庭的沟通等。

现在juggling的状态让我想到单身的时候迷的一个词儿slash，斜杠青年，学了咖啡师，考了瑜伽教练证，跳舞画画插花每天忙得不亦乐乎，不过这应该还只是兴趣爱好水平，高阶版的是slash careers。

（slash有这个引申义是因为这个词儿原指/，所以如果假设我介绍自己是编辑/咖啡师/瑜伽教练/舞者的话，需要很多个斜杠/来表达我的不同身份multiple identities，因此。）

Slash Careers
“Slash Careers” is when an individual with multiple interests pursues multiple careers successfully.
高阶是在于这些兴趣爱好能发展成可以付账单的工作。

有这种多重身份multiple identities的叫做slash-ers（斜杠人士），多发展一项“正经儿”兴趣爱好叫做add a “slash” to your life

倡导斜杠生活的，可以说这样的广告词儿：
If you’re seeking wholeness or dynamism in your work/life, living out a slash may be just what you need.

除了wholeness还有dynamism，最近瑜伽界还流行一个更厉害的词，abundance丰盛，如Abundance Meditation丰盛冥想。

为什么要斜杠 -- 个人的韧性（今年经济老提这个词儿）

Life is Not Linear
Life is not a straight shot path, and a slash could be a possibility to reroute.生活不是简单的从此到彼的直线，斜杠可以让我们更弹性地生活，是重新调整生命轨迹的基础。
Veering off in life, or deviating from the expected order can sometimes be positive and beneficially life-changing.有的时候“偏离轨道”也是一种恩赐。

不过斜杠要谨记，在没有变成“职业”之前，搞清楚anchors and orbiters，即什么是你此刻的定海之针以及业余爱好。

怀念单身斜杠生活，但超人妈妈未尝不是斜杠，都是修炼。
