　　Got hankies? The next speaker is a weeper. The new House Speaker John Boehner has a reputation for tearing up。
　　It happened most recently when Boehner took his first turn on stage after Republicans seized control of the House in the midterm elections. Boehner held it together until he got to the spot in his speech when he spoke of his humble origins as one of 12 children in a working-class family。
　　Then he started to lose it: "I've spent my whole life chasing the American dream." Soon he was pursing his lips and pressing a fist to his mouth as he tried to regain his cool while telling the crowd: "I put my - myself through school - working - every rotten job there was - and every night shift job I could find."
　　Instantly, Twitter was atwitter with speculation about whether the show of emotion by the "weeper of the House" was genuine. It was vintage Boehner to those who know him. Margaret Spellings, education secretary under former President George W. Bush, says Boehner used to get weepy at school events. "Everybody laughs about how he bursts into tears. He'd always get choked up about the kids."
　　Boehner's not always a softy: He's delivered plenty of fiery speeches against Barack Obama and the Democrats. His "Hell no" tirade against the president's health care overhaul went viral on YouTube。

　　报道称，美国共和党在刚刚结束的中期选举中控制了众议院，博纳因而第一次登台讲话。一开始他还沉着冷静，后来讲起自己卑微的出身，父母是普通工人，还有11个兄弟姐妹。
　　这时，他失控了：“我一生都在追寻美国梦。”他嗫嚅着，拳头紧压嘴唇，努力保持平静：“我……我努力读书……做……每一份垃圾的工作……夜班什么的没有不做的。”
　　微博推特用户纷纷猜测这位“众议院爱哭鬼”是作秀还是真实的情感流露。但了解他的人知道，这就是博纳的本色。美国前教育部长玛格丽特-斯佩林斯称，博纳经常在学校活动中落泪：“所有人都笑他动不动就哭，一提孩子就哽咽。”
　　不过美联社称，博纳并非那么多愁善感。他曾经发表了大量激烈反对奥巴马总统和民主党的演说。如网上受到热捧的长篇演说《该死的，不！》就猛烈抨击了奥巴马政府医疗改革法案。
