　　Pistol shooter Su Zhibo signalled China's emergence as a world power on the international stage by winning the country's maiden Asian Gold medal in Tehran in 1974.
　　1974年，手枪射击运动员苏之渤在德黑兰为中国代表团取得了亚运会历史上第一枚金牌，标志着中国将在国际舞台上成为体育强国。

　　Known as a &quotowerman with small hands", Yao Jingyuan won a gold medal at 1982 Asian Games in men's 67.5 kg。
　　1982年亚运会，人称“小手大力士”的姚景远在男子举重67.5公斤级的比赛中获得金牌(这是中国亚运史上的第100枚金牌)。
　　To overcome the difficulty brought by his small hands which often failed him at critical moment, Yao had kept up his practice for over a dozen years before becoming an Olympic champion。
　　为了克服自己因为手小而经常在关键时刻失利，姚景远一直苦练了十几年，后来还成为了奥运冠军。
首次在单届亚运会金牌数上破百
　　The 11th Asian Games were held in Beijing. It was the first large-scale international sports event to be held in the People's Republic of China. China dominated the games, grabbing 60% of the gold medals and 34% of the total medal count。
　　1990年第十一届亚运会在北京举行，这是中华人民共和国承办的第一项大型国际体育赛事。中国代表团成为了这届比赛的“统治者”，独占总金牌数的60%和总奖牌数的34%。(这是中国队首次在一届亚运会金牌数上突破100枚，也是亚运会到目前为止代表团的夺金数之最)

　　Chinese female veteran hurdler Feng Yun, 31, clocked 12.96 seconds to win the women's 100 meters hurdles at the Busan Asian Games。
　　2002年釜山亚运会，中国31岁的跨栏老将冯云以12秒96的成绩获得了女子100米跨栏赛冠军。(这是中国亚运史上的第800块金牌)

　　Sport dancers Liang Yujie and Shen Hong claimed the Tango gold at the Guangzhou Asian Games on Saturday, which is China's 1000th since the country made an Asian Games debut in 1974. Twenty minutes earlier, the pair took the standard Waltz title。
