　　英国广播公司(BBC)国际部7日公布的一项名为“国家形象”的民调显示，中国的国际形象过去一年有所上升，44%的受访者对中国持积极看法，而去年这一比例为40%。

　　文中的people-to-people communication就是指“民间交流”，也可以称为non-governmental exchanges。民间交流不仅可以促进positive international influence(积极的国际影响力)和overseas image(海外形象)，而且可以促进people-to-people diplomacy/public diplomacy(民间外交)。
　　目前，我国已成为engine of the global economy(国际经济发展的引擎)，因此如何提升overseas image也称为面临的重要挑战。为提升国际形象，我国去年还在海外发行了national publicity film(国家形象宣传片)。
