China has released a five-year plan on elderly care for the 2021-2025 period, aiming to boost the health of the country's aging population.
《“十四五”健康老龄化规划》近日发布。

Over 78 percent of China's senior population has at least one chronic disease, and the number of incapacitated elderly individuals continues to grow, calling for more institutions, personnel, services and policies to meet their needs.
规划说，我国78%以上的老年人至少患有一种以上慢性病，失能老年人数量将持续增加。老年人对健康需求的增加，则需要更多健康老龄化机构、队伍、服务和政策的支持。

The plan pledges efforts to improve the preventive health service system for elderly people, reducing or delaying the occurrence of disability and dementia.
规划提出，完善老年人预防保健服务体系，减少、延缓老年人失能（智）发生。

It underlines the accelerated development of barrier-free environments, elderly friendly renovations of residential buildings, and the installation of automated external defibrillators at public venues.
加快无障碍环境建设和住宅适老化改造。推动在老年人集中场所安装自动体外除颤仪（AED）。
