Alternative modernization path to that of West

China's modernization is the modernization of a socialist country under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. It has common characteristics with the modernization of other countries as well as unique Chinese characteristics based on China's realities.
Some time ago, many people equated modernization with Westernization or Europeanization. But China has completely rewritten the map of the modern world and broken the myth of single development path modeled on that of the West. China's successful modernization means that 1.4 billion people will enter the modern society as a whole, which will be larger than the population of all existing developed countries combined.
The CPC has deeply reviewed and reflected on the problems encountered by Western countries as they modernized, and China's development path offers an alternative to that of the Western countries, which has been at the cost of exploiting the bottom of society and less-developed countries.
China's pursuit of modernization is the modernization of a country with a huge population. China always puts people first, and the government attaches great significance to promoting social fairness and justice, and resolutely addressing wealth polarization. China's modernization is a process seeking common prosperity of all the people.
China's modernization also seeks harmonious relations between the material civilization and spiritual civilization, between man and nature. It adheres to sustainable development, and gives priority to conservation.
