Envoys hail profound significance of congress

Foreign ambassadors in Beijing offered congratulations on the successful conclusion of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and said that China would create new opportunities for the world through its development and contribute more to addressing the common challenges facing humanity.
The diplomats made the comments at a dialogue in Beijing hosted on Wednesday by the Department of Foreign Affairs Management of the Foreign Ministry, during which they said the congress was a historic event with profound significance for both China and the world, praised China's achievements and expressed their confidence that the country would achieve more brilliant outcomes.
Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China, hailed the nation's rapid development over the past decade and congratulated China on its milestone achievements.
Dhaheri said that he had visited Malipo county in Yunnan province several times, and witnessed how it emerged from poverty. China has resolved the problem of absolute poverty and lifted nearly 100 million poor rural residents out of poverty, making significant contributions to global poverty reduction.
Pointing to the growth in bilateral trade between China and the UAE in recent years, he said cooperation between the two nations was based on common interests and mutual trust, proving that China pursues a mutually beneficial opening-up strategy.
As China is a major power and the second-largest economy in the world, the congress gained global attention, said Kazakhstan's Ambassador to China Shakhrat Nuryshev.
"China's growth has offered fresh opportunities to neighboring countries," he said, adding that Kazakhstan, as a friendly neighbor and permanent comprehensive strategic partner of Beijing, is willing to further expand cooperation with China.
Nuryshev said that Kazakhstan paid attention to the Chinese path to modernization enshrined in the report delivered at the congress and believed China would realize its national goals.
According to the report, Chinese modernization is the modernization of a huge population, of common prosperity for all, of material and cultural-ethical advancement, of harmony between humanity and nature and of peaceful development.
Referring to China's high-quality development, Anyin Choo, Guyana's ambassador to China, said, "I have witnessed that Beijing has more blue skies", adding that this was a testament to China's progress in ecological conservation and environmental protection.
She also thanked China for its efforts in response to global climate change and expressed willingness to learn from China's experiences in this regard.
Algeria's Ambassador to China Hassane Rabehi said China's achievements were due to the leadership of the CPC and its global vision, saying that the congress has showed China's sincerity and efforts to uphold peace and development and promote exchanges among civilizations.
"China is a peace-loving country and always commits itself to the common development and prosperity of all peoples," he said, referring to a series of China-proposed initiatives, including the Global Development Initiative and Global Security Initiative.
He added that China has independently chosen a development path suited to its national conditions.
