The first 21.5-inch (54.6-cm) Open Frame Monitor with innovativenanosilver-based multi-touch PCT technology
Stutensee (Germany) - With the21.5-inch (54.6-cm) FPDS-215OF-WF3SLC1 Open Frame Monitor, GleichmannElectronics are presenting the first model in their new Open Frame product rangeequipped with the latest nanosilver-based projective/capacitive touchscreen(PCT) technology at the embedded world on Stand 219 in Hall 2.
Unlike conventional indium-tin oxide (ITO)-based PCTs, tiny particles ofsilver are used as a conductive material in the process used by GleichmannElectronics. This makes it possible to manufacture extremely thin, elastic touchfilms. The capacitive resistance is so low that minimal reaction times areguaranteed even if the touch surface is touched through an 8 mm thick glasscover.
With a border of no more than 3.2 mm and a much smaller bonding area betweenthe touch sensor and the flat panel plug than with classical ITO PCTs the films, which are currently available for touch diagonals from 17-inch (43.2-cm) to24-inch (60.1-cm), are ideal for use in Open Frame Monitors which are currentlymainly still fitted with resistive touch screens. The 90 percent lighttransmission supports optimum display readability.
