“死亡之花“水晶兰　　A rare breed of plant, named Monotropa uniflora, has been spotted at Tianyu Scenic Area in Xi'an city in west China's Shaanxi Province.
　　近日，陕西省西安市田裕景区发现了一种名为“水晶兰”的独特植物。
　　The elusive plant frequently features in Chinese martial arts novels, in which it typically possesses extraordinary powers. Rumor has it that the flower has the power of life in its petals - it can bring the dead back from the grave or kill people off.
　　

　　在武侠小说里，这种神秘莫测的植物常常被神化成具有超乎寻常的灵力。传闻中，它的花瓣有主宰生命的魔力—可救人于死亡之谷，也可杀人于无形。
　　The plant is sometimes completely white but commonly has black flecks, and its stem can reach a height of up to 30 centimeters. Due to its colors and appearance, the flower has been given the moniker ghost plant or corpse plant.
　　水晶兰浑身晶莹剔透，普遍分布黑色斑点，株高达30厘米。因其独特的外形、色彩，此花也被称为“死亡之花”或者“尸腐花”。
　　More special than its look, the ghost plant does not depend on sunlight to grow but can live in dark environments or even on the floor of a dense forest.
　　相较其外表，更令人称奇的是，“死亡之花”不依赖阳光进行光合作用，而是生长在幽暗潮湿的环境，甚至是在茂密的森林里。
